New

Here it comes again... time to browse curricula, plan, organize, de-clutter, wipe down the shelves, vacuum the cobwebs from the corners... I have always loved the prospect of starting a new school year. Even as a child, the smell of freshly sharpened pencils, the straightened edge of crisp new notebook paper...it sent my mind whirling into a happy frenzy of everything clean, fresh, new! Well, the same butterflies tickle my fancy, but in a new, adult way. I not only experience it again for myself as a homeschooling Mom, but now have the joy of watching my two little "students" find the same excitement. The journey of homeschooling has left behind me a trail of forgotten methods, too many workbooks with two or three pages half filled and then tossed for the "better" way to learn. Just think of the time!, the money!! and energy I have dedicated to finding it all, only to see it sitting pretty in the bookcase. Each one, in and of itself, a bright effective way to teach and learn, but I still reach for the epitome of learning!
